AN EXCEPTIONAL PERFUMERY
AN EMBLEM OF OLFACTORY JEWELS
FROM THE CONTINENT
In the spirit of its founder and creative teams,
SCENT OF AFRICA is a showcase of the olfactory jewels the continent harbours. Behind it, an end-to-end production chain that meets rigorous criteria has been set up in Accra, Ghana to welcome other initiatives and to place Africa in the global spotlight.
Now, encapsulated in a bottle of SCENT OF AFRICA perfume is the soul of the beautiful continent of Africa, made by Africans for Africa and the rest of the world. This interpretation of Africa’s culture, technical and creative ingenuity, is setting the pace in hopes to become a catalyst for igniting the continent’s passion for innovation across various sectors.
As African fashion has experienced a boom over the past few years, garnering recognition and international admiration, it is time for the perfumes of Africa to enjoy the same measure of enthusiasm.
SCENT OF AFRICA weaves close connections with haute couture, but also other luxury sectors in Africa such as jewellery, the hospitality industry, or gastronomy and intends to increase the horizons of local creative expertise and excellence.
GOING BACK TO OUR ROOTS
"WHO I AM IS WHERE I AM FROM"
As the brand’s fundamental value is “who I am is where I come from”,
it invites people to reconnect with their origins.
It’s an encouragement to get to know one’s roots, to be proud of them and celebrate one’s history.
The brand has chosen a logo that encapsulates this key message: its emblem is inspired
by the Sankofa symbol – featuring a bird turning its head to look towards its tail –, signifying
“back to your roots” in the Akan language of Ghana.
SCENT OF AFRICA, AN INVITATION
TO STAND PROUDLY LOOKING TOWARDS THE FUTURE
The bottle is a bespoke design by Swiss-Ghanaian designer and architect Kurt Merki Jr.,
an architectural totem that stands proud and unites the brand with the future
in its architectural avant-garde design.
Supremely modern lines sign this sculpture, outlining the shape of the continent at the top of its cap.
The map is an invitation to return to our roots.
When it is looked at from above, the shape of Africa can be glimpsed,
which looks as if it is projected above the sphere of Earth, embodied by the bottle’s body.
This symbol is a tribute to the continent, for its past and present history,
underlining the growing importance it will have in the future on the international scene.
